Brayden Plummer

Director of Education · Grow WILDE

Brayden is an educational innovator and systems thinker dedicated to transforming how schools approach learning and nature. With 15 years of experience in both experiential and traditional educational settings, including leadership roles at Pretty River Academy and his educational consulting company, Brayden brings strategic vision to Grow WILDE's mission. He bridges the gap between classroom practice and systemic change, helping educators and institutions adopt permacognitive principles and integrate outdoor learning at scale.

Brayden's educational philosophy is rooted in a simple truth: nature is the best classroom. Growing up exploring rural Ontario's woods and farmland near the Nith River, he discovered his calling in education through a lifelong passion for fly fishing and the outdoors. This early connection to nature informed his belief that strong academics, respect, and critical thinking must be woven together with the joy of learning and exploration.

After years leading a traditional school through significant growth and navigating its challenges, Brayden recognized the urgent need for systemic change in education. He launched his consulting company, Out of the Woods Education, to provide solutions to the industry's biggest challenges. Finding Grow WILDE aligned perfectly with his vision of creating meaningful educational experiences that ignite curiosity and equip students with real-world skills. Now as Director of Education, Brayden works across multiple schools and communities to embed outdoor and permacognitive learning into institutional practice, ensuring sustainable transformation at the systems level.
